Behind every routine, every stomp, and every scuff, stand our four qualified instructors. They are guides and pioneers who, armed with passion, technique, and a touch of healthy Western eccentricity, will take you by the hand and teach you to own the dance floor, guiding you from the very first basic step to the most exhilarating routines.

Stepping into the world of Black Roses means breathing in the magic of the Old West. It is the scent of leather boots, the gleam of a belt buckle under the venue lights, and the electrifying energy of a circle of dancers moving in unison, like a single, mighty battalion of rhythm. Whether you are a lone cowboy or a cowgirl seeking adventure, you will find your place around the campfire here. Age and experience don't matter; at our Academy, the only rule is to let yourself be swept away by the rhythm of the prairie.

Our Story

In 2009, a few country line dancers decided to form a dance group, launching a new venture in the Brescia area. Two of them took the helm, marking the start of the journey for Manuel Agnellini and Daniela Marcarini, alongside the dancers who would become the original Black Roses. The creative genius and skilled hand of Dalila Tonolini gave birth to one of the most refined and elegant logos ever: the black rose. The Black Roses quickly established themselves as a well-structured group, asserting their presence with determination and tenacity. Just like any group of the kind, along with the growth and the achievement of various goals, the first obstacles arrived too; just as the group was flourishing—with the spotlight on them and a significant number of members—things began to falter. Instructor Manuel was inclined to slow down and pursue a personal path completely separate from dance. Daniela chose not to continue without him, and—compounded by friction arising from dissatisfaction among some students within the group—both instructors ceased their activities. It was 2015, and the dancers were left adrift, caught in an emotional limbo that led them down different paths. Some stopped dancing, others joined different groups, and the ones who remained continued to dance as the Black Roses, albeit without an instructor. Meanwhile, an attempt was made to bring in someone to continue teaching, but the candidate proved entirely unsuitable; a group of this caliber required more than just anyone. The standard achieved under Manuel Agnellini was high, so the role demanded someone competent and well-suited—someone who embodied the essence of the "Blacks" and shared their vision and technical approach. In 2016, Alessia Bettini—a former student of Manuel—began her career as a Country Western dance instructor, having already attained Level 2 AICOWED certification and qualified as a CSEN instructor. To protect her beloved "Black Roses," she registered the logo, making it sacrosanct. Ten wonderful years followed, filled with new students, projects, events, performances, and activities of pure fun. Along the way, the instructor achieved her AICOWED Level 3 certification and made the decision—long cherished as a precious dream—to found an amateur sports association; thus, in August 2026, the Black Roses Western Dance Academy ASD came to life. What does the future hold? We cannot know, but had I not met Manuel back in 2012, I wouldn't be here now, and the Black Roses wouldn't exist.
